Tourism data for the first three months of 2023 in Antalya have been announced. While the Russians ranked first and the Germans the second in terms of the number of tourists visiting Antalya by air this year, the number of those who visited Antalya by air between March 1 and March 31 reached 347 thousand 635 with an increase of 54 compared to the previous year.

 

AKTOB President Kaan Kavaloğlu made his assessment regarding the tourism data realized in Antalya in the first three months of 2023, "The year 2022 has been one of the best examples of the stable growth of tourism in Turkey. By increasing the number of tourists and tourism income proportionally, the per capita travel expenditure has reached 89 dollars. Although the negative atmosphere that escalated between our 2 important resource markets and the stagnation in the global economy, which also affected all our resource markets, lowered our expectations, the data obtained indicate that the rise will continue, as we predicted, except for certain markets. We expect demand to rise, especially in European resource markets. In the January-March 2023 data, our two major resource markets, Germany and the UK, showed an increase of around 50 percent. In both markets, the figures were exceeded in 2019. The UK has increased its market share significantly in recent years. Especially the British We anticipate that a shift in family demand for all-inclusive will continue with the pressure of inflation. Although it showed an increase of 146 percent compared to last year from the Russian Federation, we do not expect the same level for the whole year. We will determine our position according to the course of international relations. Among the high-potential sub-markets, the biggest increase was in Poland, by 76 percent. In terms of population and economic size, we see Poland as a market that needs to be developed as a priority. As the accommodation sector, we stand by all efforts that support market and product diversity."

 

Russian and German tourists did not lose the summit In terms of the number of tourists visiting Antalya by air in 2023, the Russians rank first and the Germans second. Between January 1 and March 31, the most tourists came to Antalya from Russia with 213 thousand 101. Russia was followed by Germany with 169 thousand 228 tourists and then England with 88 thousand 572 tourists.

 

The other countries that sent the most tourists to Antalya by air in the three-month period were Poland, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Ukraine and Denmark, respectively. The percentage distribution of tourists visiting Antalya by air is; Russia 30.98 percent, Germany 24.60 percent, England 12.88 percent, Poland 3.55 percent, Iran 2.57 percent, Israel 2.47 percent, Kazakhstan 1.99 percent, Netherlands 1.66%, Ukraine 1 percent .65 and Denmark 1.35 percent.

 

There was a 54 percent increase in visits by air

 

The monthly and annual increase in the rates of tourism data in Antalya continues. While 226 thousand 314 people visited Antalya by air between March 1 and March 31 in 2022, this number reached 347 thousand 635 with an increase of 54 percent in the same period of 2023. Looking at the dates between January 1 and March 31; While 515 thousand 304 people visited Antalya by air between January 1 and March 31 in 2022, this number reached 797 thousand 920 with an increase of 55 percent in the same period of 2023.
